A Family Business Serving Portland & Beyond

We started this company because quality and customer service matter to us.
We have hired a diverse and skilled team of painters and carpenters that take pride in their craft. We put care and thoughtfulness into our processes to ensure quality and efficiency. We truly care about our customer’s projects and going the extra mile to meet or exceed their expectations. And finally, with our efforts to contribute to our community in the unique way we can as small business owners…we are dedicated to doing exceptional work with purpose and integrity.
We are professionals who participate and contribute within our industry alongside other business owners changing the way the trades are perceived and elevating the profession. We believe in what we do and want to employ people long term, and grow the business. We’re more than contractors—we’re neighbors invested in the homes and businesses that shape this city.

Who We Are

Steve Rice has been involved with painting and carpentry for his entire adult life. He started painting for his uncle’s commercial painting company at age 17. When his dad began a residential painting and contracting company in his hometown of St Louis, Steve was his first employee, painting historic homes during and after college. With degrees in communications, Steve spent 15 years in Portland working as a project director in education-related non-profits while continuing to follow his passion and true love – building and painting. After rehabbing an old 1899 home, which included adding an ADU, he made the move into general contracting in 2016.
With his diverse skill-set and background, Steve naturally sees the bigger picture and combines a sense for design, aesthetics, and color theory with excellent communication, customer service, active listening, and project management skills. He builds and paints structures with Northwest conditions in mind.
Dina Stanzione’s career began in property management while in college in suburban Philadelphia, overseeing 14 apartment buildings and an 80,000 square foot commercial property over nine years. She honed her skills in building maintenance and customer service, advancing to an assistant vice president role. Relocating to Portland, OR in 2004, Dina transitioned to a healthcare technology startup, dedicating a decade to its growth until acquisition.
After moving to Portland, Dina purchased her first home—a charming 1906 Craftsman bungalow in Montavilla—which she spent nine years renovating and designing. In 2020, she and Steve relocated just down the street to a historic 1896 farmhouse in need of major renovation. During the pandemic, they fully gutted and remodeled the home, added new landscaping, and now live and operate the business there together.
